Earlier on today my screen on my Samsung went a little haywire to say the least, all colours, squares etc.

Now when I seen it I said "Graphics card gone" Could smell some smoke etc.

So took it out to have a look and seemed ok.My monitor has dual display so it was using DVI.After I smelled the smoke I shut down pc and after the check of graphics card I started it up again.

The monitor was displaying "No signal connection, analogue" So plugged in an analogue lead and the monitor was fine. Its very weird.Im hoping the DVI on graphics card is gone and not on the monitor. What do any of you think?

Suppose Ill have to get a DVI connection somewhere, its just weird.

Have you tested the monitor on another graphics card with dvi out?
Seems like its just a matter of returning either the graphics card or the monitor depending on which is broken and if its still under warranty.

Got another monitor with Dvi and it seems the cards dvi is blown but the analogue is working ok....weird.I wonder do Radeon 9700pro have a lifetime warranty? :)
