    Thats Obvious, Boards.ie :).

if you search for http in google the 1st result is microsoft so i'd put my money on them.

EDIT: actually its obviously google but i'd put it in the catagory of web tools rather than web sites.

Id say the Urban 75 website is more popular than boards.ie it's a similar one to this for those who don't know it but mainly people from in and around London post on it although there are people from all over who post.

I knew someone would say boards. Probably google, but as someone said, that could be classed as a Web Tool

Mine is probably boards.ie then gmail, then google news

Google, eBay, Wikipedia, Amazon and Neopets, I'd say.

Mine are more or less the same, but instead of Neopets there are different boards and the page of my grade at school.

yahoo? I've never once purposely gone to Yahoo. Strange. I would have thought it was google.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,488 ✭✭✭Goodshape

Yea, I find that strange too.. although I can understand that more than Microsoft.com - who goes there and why?

My top sites, aside from the obvious (boards.ie / mail / search engine), would probably be BBC and Wikipedia; although i regularly check sites like Slashdot, Eurogamer, Guardian and Common Dreams but wouldn't spend the same time on them.

BBC are you having a laugh, it would be no where near the most visited site

Apart from email and search engines, I'd say it would be well up there. http://news.bbc.co.uk/ is my homepage. It's just the best news site around.

If you discount the likes of Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft and AOL as they are basically just links to then find another site, or people just never bothered changing their home pages, then the top 15 sites of the various ranking charts that I've come across basically just contain Amazon, eBay, BBC and CNN in various orders.

There is also .com's, .ca's and .co.uk's for each of those site appearing mulitple times in the different charts also which confuses things slightly as well.

Interesting comparison of Boards.ie's traffic to that of Daft.ie's http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?&range=6m&size=medium&y=r&url=boards.ie#top
