90% of is is observation...Book a few pre test with ISM , they have the requirements off to a tee.

Just relax. Get a lot of fresh air that mornin. Go for a walk if you have to. And if you focus on passing you increase your chances on passing! Worked for me :)

Stick to the left side of the road near the kerb. You're supposed too.

A friend of mine failed his test because he stuck to the 30mph limit and caused a tailback. He was supposed to keep up with the traffic, it's called 'progression'. Obviously as long as you don't drive like a lunatic you'll be fine.

Don't go drinking the night before

    Don't hit anything

Don't drive like too much of a granny

Stick about 2 feet from the kerb on the left - as mentioned above your supposted to

Do a pre-test right before your actual test - It will get you in the frame of mind for semi-granny driving

As was also mentioned above, its almost all about OBSERVATION, make SURE your always looking at your mirrors (and infront of you obviously)

I would say that confidence is important. If you can show that you are confident in the decisions that you make during the test then the tester is more likely to think that you can handle unsuspecting events on the road after the test. If you are not confident on the test, then the tester will most likely assume that you are not a confident driver outside of the test scenario and therefore more likely to cause some other incident on the roads.

Confidence is a big factor yes. Because confidence will make the tester feel more relaxed while theyre in the car.

A relaxed tester = happy tester = more likely to pass you tester!

Re-set your interior mirror so that you have to move your head slightly to use it. The examiner will see you head movement and know you are using the mirror. A correctly set mirror only requires eye movement which he/she will not see. Many people fail because they don't, or at least the examiner thinks they don't, use their mirrors.

Do not exceed the speed limit, you will be failed if you do. It is one of the most basic rules of the road.

    Good advice here so far.

Make sure to book a lesson before your test. I booked a two hour one with my instructor immediately before my test and it really helped settle my nerves. When I was doing my test, I'd covered the route earlier on in the day and could remember my instructor's advice at the difficult spots.

Also, be considerate to other road users and pedestrians the morning of your test. There was a pedestrian having difficulty getting across the road when I was doing my pre-test so I held back to let him get across. 40 minutes later I found out that was my tester!
