Would it not have to be booked in for "work". Also its ridiculously expensive iirc.

If you lie to an insurance company, ever, about anything... you will never actually be insured even if u are paying them ten grand a month.

Its not that ridiculously expensive. It can often be a way to get cover on a performance car that would otherwise be refused. Ask your broker to check it for you - naturally any budget/web-based/supermarket brokers are unlikely to help so go for the traditional broker. Mine recently quoted €2,800 for me to have open driving on anything and that I could 'stock' up to 20 cars with none of them valued at more than €40,000. Considering my insurance on a twin-turbo Supra would be €1,300 and I could then have two or three other cars covered it isn't such bad value. AON and St. Paul both cover 'small' traders. I am not a motor trader or dealer - I just have a lot of cars and moving insurance around gets tedious...

I thought that if you were insured as "trade" then you could only drive cars up until 7.00/7.30 or so? Not 100% sure about this but had been told this was the case.
