Just wondering if any of these are popping up in Ireland.

Er, this was going on in New York McDonalds in August 2004...hardly breaking news?

Nothing in McDonalds' here (well, I don't visit them but...nothing I've heard). However there are similar DVD vending machines at Esso garages... particularly Esso on Glasnevin Avenue.

The Texaco on the tallaght by-pass has ahd one of the machines for about a year.

    bwhahahahaha....

I mean how does this thing work. How does it verify who you are, how does it vend the movies? I can't imagine its like a typical beverage vending machine...

....someone explain the whole thing? Never head of it before to be honest

    105 McDonalds in Denver!!!

That is a lot of BigMacs for only half a million people, and I presume they have a few burgerkings etc around as well.

and while your renting Bambis greatest adventures, why not get yourself a big mac for $1.50, to order aswell press yes.

please note the yes button will increase in size over the next coming weeks to acccomadate big fingers, due to our amazing big mac and dvd offers.

there some dvd-dispenser thing in ballymun apparently. i've been told you require a credit card to use. it was a test to see if they can take off (not sure why ballymun was the test region tbh).. so i'm assuming some company plans on having these machines around the place

    Vandalism test?
Maybe the idea is that if the machine can survive Ballymun, it can survive anywhere :D

bigmac would make a great porno name. His special sauce is in high demand.

Looks like a winner to me! But just one thing since McDonalds is supposedly a 'family' enviornment will these just dvds just 'edited/censored' versions of the films?

As the disk has to be returned to a McD store the cynic in me reckons this is just a total stunt to get people making more visits to McD's in order to buy their food.

Which reminds me, whatever happened with those self-destroying disks that were all the talk a couple of years ago? They'd have been ideal for this purpose - not that McDonalds would agree.
