what is your current favourite band?

my favourite band changes from time-to-time, but at the moment I am really big into Iron Maiden. I am raging that I couldn't go to the concert last month because a friend of mine decided to hold his 21st on that night, so there were a few of us who really wanted to go and couldn't [RANT] the really annoying thing is that one of the lads supposed to go to the party and who is not really into Iron Maiden at all did go, when he came back we abused him solid! [/RANT]

anyway I have 4 albums (and one live album) at the moment: Iron Maiden, Killers, Powerslave, Fear Of The Dark & Live After Death. I am not sure which to get next, I was thinking Piece Of Mind, but also 7th Son Of A 7th Son, any suggestions (you are free to think outside the box as it were ;))

so back onto the point, who is your current big band / musician?

over the last few years my 'favorite band' on my played to death list has gone something like

    Oasis 1995
    Stone Roses
    Beatles
    Stereophonics (first album)
    Damien Rice
    Radiohead (a late bloomer)
    Reindeer Section
    Snow Patrol
    Arcade Fire

At the moment its got to be Hard-fi and Paul McCartney's latest album, both terrific.

Not really into any of that Iron Maiden/metallica nonsense.

You can't go wrong with most of ShriekingSheet's list either.

It used to be Green Day for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages. But then they went all American Idiot-y so I tuned out. I've been listening to loads of Alkaline Trio and Pearl Jam at the moment though.

Don't really change my favourite band but the best new band I've heard in a long time is Trivium.

Thrice. I love this band so much. They are quite possibly the best band I've ever listened to. Everybody, if you are a fan of heavy guitar music, I strongly advise you to go and listen to Thrice. Don't dismiss them without listening to them!

There are "all-time-favourites" in my life such as the likes as Prince, Kiss, Maiden, The Bee Gees, Simon and Garfunkel and of course Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode and Erasure - and then there are those I listen to at the moment or in between and who could sneak onto the list:

    Chemical Brothers
    Royksopp
    George Michael
    Keane
    Coldplay
    Lamb
    Kosheen
    Faithless

without any shadow of a doubt its tool all the way to the bank!
with nods in the direction of Q.O.S.T.A (stronger and stronger with every album) and muse (ditto). but that said a lot of respect is due to the republic of loose... what an amazing band. 'this is the tomb of the juice' should be posted to everyone in the country.
