Just curious as to what fiendish perverted types of NUIG hang around here...

I'm a 1st year in Experimental Physics. I like long walks on the beach and beautiful orange sunsets.

    Agus tusa?

I'm a first year in Science, group E. I'm fashionably cynical and don't like anything, except Phillip Glass. Excellent!

Final (hopefully!) PhD year in biochemistry. NUIG is almost my home now, been here longer than I care to remember!

1st year science. Group F (theres onlt 8 of us), Physics isnt so hard if u did it for lc. It dosnt have a blackboard site cus the lecturers are old and scared of computers. Honours maths is a ****. I dont no If I'll manage 60% for the christmas test.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,349 ✭✭✭nobodythere

Aye yeah, the speed that they're flying through the course in physics is UNBELIEVABLE, and so many people haven't touched Physics before. it must be really tough on them. Blackboard would be very useful.

Keep people safe, we get slated.
People manage to kill themselves, we get slated.

Its not much fun on our side either. With this new health and safety act 05, us inspectors "have the power" so watch it... ;)

Heres some of the sh1t we have to deal with, look at this guy in the pink shirt. here

Did they ask you how to make that picture safer in your exam? :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 434 ✭✭Ruffty^

bingo, but it also represented a general rule for everyone in our class to remember and we were warned to stay alert if one of these creatures is ever spotted; *people in pinks shirts are idiots [exceptions::::none]*

I'm a final year Engineer and let me tell you Ruffty - you have a lot of Sh1tty subjects ahead of you in the next year or so. I should know I've done a few of them myself.

Something to look forward to, thanks for that... :(
What gets me through each day is thinking of the wheelbarrows full of money I`l be making when I get out of this god forsaken place, its probably the same for you Kojak? Final year? I bet you can taste it:

Well, I wouldn't say that I'll be getting 'wheelbarrows full of money' when I graduate (have to pass those f***king exams first!!!).

For most, if not all engineers, you have to under-go a 2 year 'graduate programme' before the big money starts rolling in. You usually start on about 26,000 Euro and after the 2 years your pay goes up considerably.

I would assume health and safety are the same.

More's the question, who the f**k is rufty?
(2nd year health & safety systems... the attractive one with no personality hehe:D )

I`m actually not sure how it works in my course, I have to do job placement in 3rd year so that`l prob answer my question.

sideflip, you are in my class? If so, i`m sure you enjoyed the law exam today. I liked it so much I think i`ll repeat it in august :(

Hey - I'm hopefully in my final year of PhD in experimental physics.
For those 1st yrs looking for a blackboard site - there is one for physics for medicine, and health and safety - I've used it for when I've given grinds - it wont have your whole course covered cause they only do one semester but its a good place to start!!!:)

Oh sorry no Dazzler, I'm a class rep in the SU our President Elect is Dan Hayden who was the Welfare Officer.
    Education was Brian Doyle,
    Welfare Barry Colfer,
Deputy President was the incumbent Dave Curran who was reelected (no surprise there) and
    Entertainments was Holly Irvine.

Our website is www.ucdsu.net and if you go to "Officers" and "Welfare" thats our President Elect.
