Can't be got anywhere I think, even Amazon.co.uk has a 4 -6 weeks dispatch time on the D70s kit.Pixmania hasn't got the kit either and I've tried a couple of Uk dealers with no joy

why not give www.digiwowo.net a try, it's a german based crowd with some of the best prices around and shipping is pretty cheap too, my brother picked up the D70s there about 2 months ago from them, excellent camera indeed :)

    worth a call,
but if you don't mind me saying,...the Canon 350D kit
is a better camera,...unless of course you have nikkor lenses and just
    want a digital body.

I *think* i seen one in the Spectra photo store in the Dundrum town center. I'm not 100% sure, but it's worth checking out.

If they do have it, it wont be cheap, like everything else they have

    Why is the 350D better?

"15 August 2005. Canon, a leader in photographic and imaging technology, has been awarded European Camera of the Year 2005-2006 for the EOS 350D by the prestigious European Imaging & Sound Association (EISA). The award is the second major honour for the EOS 350D, coming on the back of a Best Entry Level Digital SLR of the Year 2005 award in April from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA)."
Apart from the above the word on the street is....
Resolution,AF sytem, lenses, flash system, all have the edge on the nikon,
I know lots of working photographers who have switched after many years
with nikon, I also hear nikon's after sales service is poor.

I bought the last one in Spectra Dundrum . The guy there told me Nikon U.K underestimated the demand for this model and will have a very small delivery mid November however He also told me that Nikon will have a great deal on the D50 in the coming weeks.

I got that last one. The guy gave me a good deal. He says Spectra pricing is done from their head office for all their stores and so they are marked at normal retail price but he said he always willing to bargain ;)

You've got to love the old Nikon versus Canon debate. You do realise of course that its never-ending? :)

Okay.... how about the October 4, 2005 edition of PC Magazine.

Nikon D50 picked as Editor's Choice. Review was done in August. Available online here: Nikon D50 review by PC Magazine

Excerpt: ...To our surprise, the company has produced a little beauty of a camera that does just that, and beats one of our existing D-SLR Editors' Choices—the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT.

Hope you got a HUUGE discount then; for example, the other camera i seen there was the Rebel XT, they had it for €1099 with lens (marked down from €1200  ), but average online price is 750-850.
