Windows XP Home or Pro never includes Office.
But if you buy a dell you will likely get Microsoft Works.
Wich has standard word processing/spreadsheet and database and other features.

I ordered a DELL with almost the exact same spec earlier in the week, as soon as I get it I will post here to tell you about it / answer any questions
Choice of 15.4-inch UltraSharpTM Wide screen displays in WXGA, WSXGA+ or WUXGA resolutions

I was totally confused by this (I'm a muppet when it comes to technology) but I just took the default "15.4-inch UltraSharpTM Wide screen displays in WXGA" so I hope that's ok

To be honest I didn't want to change the manufacturer's spec (I upgraded the printer but that's all) because knowing me I would have selected a higher spec screen and later discovered that I should have selected a faster graphics card / more memory to make it work properly.

Like I say I'm a bit of a muppet when it comes to all this techie stuff, a business acquaintance bought a DELL laptop and raved about it and I desperatley needed to replace a 10 year-old DELL desktop that owes me nothing so that's why I plumped for this machine - I hope I made the right choice - I'll let you know next week.
