    Hi Guys,

I have about 400 pics (6x4) from my wedding last June that the photographer gave me. I want to scan them into my PC (he won't give me them on cd etc). I was wondering if any of you know what is the best type of scanner to use (quickest, cheapest, can I rent them etc).

    Many thanks

    Wicklah

I'd say it's well worth your while to offer to buy the originals from him.
It'll take you AGES scanning all 400 and they'll not be a qood quality. For the sake of wedding photos, it'll be well worth it.
Saying that however, you should have agreed this before hiring him.

From a technology side, the Epson Perfection series are pretty darned good photo scanners.

From a legal side, remeber that the photographer owns the copyright to the photos so you would be breaking the law if you scan them in and distribute them.

I think he said that he doesn't actually put them onto CD, so it wasn't a matter of buying them. (He does mark the back of each one so I'm surprised if he doesn't).

Either way, he hasn't stamped any of them etc so I don't think he can claim copyright for them. Not going to distribute them, want to keep them.

I'll check out the epson printers on ebay. Thanks.

FYI: He doesn't have to as copyright is automatic
