Hey everyone, I was just wonderin if anyone knows where one could do a course for rebreathers here in ireland. I'd be lookin at tryin out an scr such as a dolphin, did try ccr before and liked it alot. I know there are courses in the north but do any dive centres or individuals in the republic offer any rebreather courses,
    thanks!!

I believe that Tim Doyle of Bantry Bay Divers does CCR courses, he's located in cork.

Myself and a couple of others are looking into bringing an instructor over to ireland for a week to do the course between xmas and the new year.

What sort of rebreather are you thinking of getting?

I originally was thinkin of a CCR such as an inspiration, but I think I would like to try SCR for a while first just for the fun of it, probably a dolphin, as for buying one well it'll be a while before that happens!!!

To try out the gear ... hhmmm there's not many places that actually do that. infact CCR divers don't have all that many resources here in Ireland. But thats not to say that there aren't any knocking about.

Another problem is that you can't just book a course for CCR. You need a couple of people to do it at the same time. Its not like a PADI centre where they fill any empty places with other customers.

You might be better off asking the question over on www.tecdiver.ie . Lots of CCR divers there that will be able to point you in the right direction.
