    I was always surprised that 'Never gonna give you up' by Rick Astley wasn't part of 'American Psycho' when he's going through all cheesy 80's crap like Phil Collins and Huey Lewis. :cool:

    When he kicked off his tour in Dublin @ the Spirit in 2004 I was quite surprised when he sang "Sinatra" and co.

    But fair play to him. His voice is great and the show certainly was good. I think I wouldn't want to buy the new album though.

    It is o.k. live and he is a great performer but I don't feel like listening to that sort of music, especially after so many albums have been remade.

    Bestalbum of that sort for me is George Michaels " Songs from the last century"

    Yeah I have to admit I’m a big fan of Astley work he’s got a great voice and I have most of his songs from the 80’s on vinyl.
    As far as I can remember he was a tea boy working in the studios with stock/aitken/waterman when he got his break;
    Apparently one day he asked peat waterman if he’d like to here a song he wrote, and it went from there.
    Also I saw him being interviewed recently and during the chat it was mentioned that Astley’s first ten releases went into the top ten chats
    And that a world record that he still holds as it has yet to be beaten.
    Looking forward to the release of his new album in October, and I already have my tickets for his show in the Olympia missed the last one, and don’t wont to miss this. Tickets cost me €77.00 for two, have to bring along the girl friend, or I’ll never hear the end of it.

    The tickets are a bit pricey but worth it as I think you just cant beat a live performance by any artist, and as for the report on the spirit gig = see below.

    Read a written review by Neil O'Brien who was their.
