Help!!! Laptop in trouble

    Hi i got a lend of my uncles laptop for a few days, went to turn it on this evening and screen keeps coming up very faint, can barely make out logon window, very very dull. Have tried it a few times since and still same prob How do i fix this???? any suggestions? :eek:

    Did you go into the bios and try adjust the screen from there or can you did it manually with the the FN key?

    i tried using the fn key but didnt seem to make a difference, took several attempts to shut down cos i couldnt see what i was doin

    Is it plugged into the mains? If not plug it in and see does it fix it could be a powersaving feature.

    Sorry been sick *snifle* when the laptop starts up there will be a line saying "press .... for setup" - could be F2,Del it depends on the laptop.

    Go in and look for settings,this is only with some laptops there is a gammy looking slider and just adjust it if you can. If the bios is all grey its the screen and i reckon its shot or a lose connection.

    yeah its plugged into mains, battery is completely shot on it, i tried pressing before F10 to get into setup but cant see the screen properly to be able to adjust anything, i'll have to give it another blast
