Getting an immobile car across from the UK?

A colleague needs to get an immobile i.e. engine not functioning car across from Wales. He can get it brought to the ferry port (in Wales) but that's about it. It's a vintage car. Any ideas on getting it to Dublin from Wales?

You would need to contact the ferry operators to see what they allow. I doubt they would accept a dead car towed by another car, it would most likely need to be on a proper transporter truck. There would be no size problem but the rates for trucks are not cheap.

Another option would be to put it in a freight container, any company that does single container orders would do. I have no idea on the cost though.

I know someone who had his non-functioning car transported from Dublin to London for E350 (one way) by Flynn Recovery (based in Carlow I think) - sorry, don't have their number.

Does he specialise in this type of thing? It's almost €1000 to bring a car and 16' trailer onto the ferry. We can get the car to a welsh ferry port - the problem is getting it on and off and up to Dublin. I'll give the Flynn chap a buzz.

ring irish ferries and stena, afaik they will take an immobile car for 150 euro and bring it to the other side, i know this as a guy i know rang them 2 months ago and they said theyl do it. they use a tractor to pull it on and theyl pull it of also. if u dont have any luck just pm me and il ask him which company, it may have been one of the unknown ones to liverpool although im sure he said holyhead. that means its either irish ferries or stena. ring their commercial freight department first.

Apparently, he transports racing Alfa's around Europe but will transport any car. He comes highly recommended and seems to be comparatively good value.
Advice is to have all the relevant details (addresses, contacts, times, etc.) ready when you call.

(I'm pretty sure he handles the land as well as the ferry part.)

Thanks! We called Flynns and he is going to do it. He has a car transporter going back and forth hence the low price. Door 2 door!
