    Hey,

Might be fortunate to upgrade my gfx card in the next few weeks and am wondering which of these would be better to go for an x800 xt pe or a 6800gt. They are agp so sli and crossfire don't enter into the equations.

I'd figure the X800 xt pe but am not 100% so any help will be welcomed.

In pure D3D the X800Xt is faster than the 6800GT.

But the GT has support for shader 3.0 which the x800xt does not have.
(shader 3.0. may not really be a big deal for a while yet)

Up to you really, but the 6800GT can be gotten for 300 euro or less and is not much slower than the X800XT.

How much are you getting the x800xt for?

In all honesty either will do you well. Go for the cheapest?

the 6800gt can b easily overclocked to ultra speeds, just stick on a zalman gpu cooler wit it ;)

Assuming the same or close enough price, go for the X800. Its quite a bit faster from personal experience on a few different PCs

thanks for the replies guys, i'm going/have gone with the X800XT PE as it was the same price as the 6800gt (€330 delivered).

Yeah, I would have picked that. Runs cooler, hence quieter, uses less power - its a better design than the 6800 basically.

More importantly, where the hell are you getting it for €330? :D
