What i need 4 or more MP.

I can get Fuji cameras with a decent discount ie S5500 for €250 but thats overkill for my needs. Just want a decent camera.

    Any suggestions?

S5500 is a great camera, and you never know, your needs might grow to fit it.
I'd rather have a camera that I could grow into than one that restricts me from the get go.

But if you're just looking for a handy compact then it sounds like you want the Fuji A345.

The Fuji F10 has the best sensor of any compact camera on the market at the moment. It produces useable pictures at iso400. Most cameras (with the exception of digital SLRs) are very poor at that sensitivity level. If ISO means nothing to you ... the camera can take good pictures indoors without flash. Advantage of not using flash: flash sucks on compact cameras.

    €76 for the A345 or €213 for the 2nd one......we have a winner :D

Thanks the A345 looks about perfect and the option of an overkill camera is there for xmas

    Kdjac,
It's not about overkill. You're paying for a good quality lens, not just the features of the camera. You can always use a 10x zoom, and the S5500 was a great quality zoom to boot. It's battery life is second to none. You'd be a fool to pass up on this camera if you have the budget for it.

    Hi

I am relatively new to digital photography. I bought a Sony DSC-P31(2 MP) a couple of years ago and now I am starting to get interested in photography. I have heard great things about the S5500 and I think the SLR style is great looking. I see that Fuji are bringing out a newer model - S5600. The price difference between the 2 is about €100 as far as I can tell. I was wondering if the extra €100 is worth it to go for the S5600. Any ideas?
