Having moved to Westmeath i need to buy my own Bin (get a free one for recycling though :D).

The council do not provide them but did pass a number of some guy (mobile number) who did not seem interested when i called him and i never heard anything again.. He was charging €55 which is reasonable

I know i can get them in Woodies for €62

However is there anywhere cheaper that anyone knows of?

B&Q liffey valley charge €99 and did not have any.

By the way Im in Dublin every day so anywhere in Dublin is fine.

Have you tried asking your local waste collection companies?

€55 is a bit steep. We bought ours for less than €20 last year.
Old neighbours are in the waste business. It kinda helps to buy in bulk. Think about 50+ ;)
Ours were purchased from a company in Tipperary.

€50 is probably the smaller ones... as for waste companies... does one not have to have their service to get a bin?? Did not think joe public can walk in and ask for one.

Do not know why its so hard to find out.. google only tells me how to buy in britain... otherwise its going through county councils who provide them to their residents.

You get one free off the town council. Then you pay monthly I think for using it. Most people where I am burn it in the garden, but a load of them got fines coz theres a helecopter going around on sundays now looking out for it. This one was burning rubbish in back garden one sunday and this helecopter landed in the back field, she asked were they ok. And they said to her, you have a fine.

If you ask for a bin that doesn't have the comapny logo on it then there shouldn't really be a problem. Some of the older wheelie bins only have stickers which can be removed easily.
We deal with Panda Waste. They are based a few miles from Slane.
I know they have a few old 240ltr bins lying around. Maybe they can help.

:D obviously you did not read my post. I said Westmeath council does not provide bins, you have to get your own. In fact they dont charge you anything for waste collection other than the tags you buy in the shops to have it picked up. The sticker to go on the bin was free :D

I was wondering where the best place to BUY a bin not rent one from a council im not a constituant of.

Anyway on burning... i do not burn rubbish out the back.. currently i get away with having rubbish in small bags and putting into public bins as i need to or else into the skip at work. I do not have a lot of waste.. i have more cardboard (from the move etc) than i know what to do with though. Some of which i burnt in the fireplace.

you can burn all the rubbish u want in a patio heater :D
anyway, the bins are 19 euro including vat trade in bulk, so 55 is within reason, considering delivery.
