I have just moved into a house. It has a Skydish mounted. Judging by the other houses, its in the right direction and all. Anyway, if I don't want to get Sky (Digital et all), but I'd like to use the dish for receiving channels, what are my options people?

By the way, there is no aerial on the house. So, thats why I thought just going for good ole free to view satellite stuff!

You'll need a decoder box to view anything with. If you have an Irish box then you will get a few channels on that, but not RTE/TV3/TG4. If you can get a UK digibox with viewing card from ebay or such then you'll get quite a few channels on that. The UK box will let you receive, among others, BBC1/2/3/4, ITV1/2/3, Ch4, Five, plus some music and kids channels. It's the better choice if you want free, decent, channels.

Satellite forum here might be of more help.
