Excuse the terrible grammar in the Title.

Anyways, after 3 years of bass and guitar its time for a challenge of piano, and seeing as how I aint loaded keyboard is my choice. So if someone here can reccomend me a good cheapish keyboard (circa 300 euro, maybe more).

One requirement is it must have a good Harpsichord effect and be able to split effects along the keys e.g. bass in low keys harpichord in higher ones.

    Cheers.

EDIT: And a pitch shifter would be nice too :D

    Roland EM-10 or a reasonable second-hand KORG

I imagine something like this would be suiting. It's MIDI, so you basically get any effect you want I think.

Except that you have to be plugged into a computer...

So? I don't think Slurms mentioned that it had to be a standalone keyboard. It's an idea at least.

Well, he mentioned he wanted a piano then mentioned that it must have a good harpsichord sound. A midi only keyboard wouldn't have a good harpsichord sound...

MIDI confuses me, so I think I'd be best off steering away from the MIDI ones. But thanks for the suggestion Karl.

I am in a somewhat similar positon, and spent last week looking into the options for a keyboard for beginner. The model I chose was the Yamaha e303. It allowed the (insert musical term here) effect, hitting the keys hard gives a different sound. Include the stand and power supply + delivery came to 250e. There is MIDI support but I will hold off exploring that until I master the scales :) .
