Seeing as some of us have seen all of season 1, i was just wondering what your favourite moments from the first season were.

For me, i think when Sawyer tells Jack about when he met his father in the bar in Sydney was a really good scene.

Also, the scene where they team up against Ethan Rom in "Homecoming"

There are a lot! lol. I liked all the Ethan stuff, where he hangs Charlie, where Charlie kills him. I basically liked every minute of "Numbers". The finale had some great stuff as well. I liked the way it showed what everyone was doing right before they got on the plane,Walt's kidnapping on the raft with the Others was really tense and well done.

I loved the scene where Sawyer tells jack he saw his Dad in Sydney, that bit just gets me going. :D

Also, when Locke was on the banging on the hatch: "I wan't some freakin' answers!".

And in the pilot when you first become aware, at the same moment that the survivors do, soon as the survivors do that there's something un-natural in the jungle.

    My favourite parts:

    1. The revelation about Locke at the end his first flashback episode. I didn't see it coming, so I enjoyed it all the more.

    2. Charlie's altercation with a rope. :) (The first real 'holy sh1t!' moment for me)

    3. Locke banging on the hatch and being shown the light....

My favorite was when at the end of one of the shows, the camera is scanning the beach with music playing in the background, suddenly the music stops, and the camera is on hurley is listening to the walkman, he says "Oh Crap". The batteries had run out.

I think it's Numbers but I'm not 100% sure. Although he actually says: "Son of a bitch".

    It was so funny :D

Great scene, it was at the end of "...In Translation".

I also love the hike scene in the second part of the pilot, the music is really cool. It's played again in "Exodus" when Charlie and Sayid are going after Danielle

All mine has been pretty much covered here! Charlie's altercation with the rope, the absolutely mindblowing ending to 'Walkabout' etc.

My absolute favourite scene of the season is.. with little doubt..:

(**SERIOUS UK / IRL SPOILERS BELOW**)

Sawyer's revelation to Jack in 'Exodus (1)'. How could anyone who watched this seen not have felt a bit choked up to see the typically sparring Sawyer and Jack finally settle their differences (at least temporarily!) with Sawyer's revelation about meeting Jack's father.

But the real thing that got me about this scene was how vulnerable Sawyer was after that scene. Sawyer's big secret of the season regarding his fellow castaway was finally out in the open which made him pretty much wide-open for the conclusion of the finale which made him being shot ever more shocking! Was i the only one to think after Sawyer made that revelation that this might be the end of him?!

An absolute phenomenal scene which just showed us how 'Lost' remained absolutely solid til even very late in the season.

Dialogue of the scene below.. not gonna bother spoiling it as UK / IRL viewers shouldn't be viewing this anyways!
SAWYER: By the time you get back, we'll be in the water. Guess this is pretty much goodbye, then.

JACK: Yeah, I guess it is. Good luck, Sawyer.

(Jack turns to leave. Sawyer ponders telling Jack something that he's known for a while.)

    SAWYER: Jack.

(Jack stops and turns around. He heads back toward Sawyer.)

SAWYER: About a week before we all got on the plane ... (Sawyer puts his shirt on.) I got to talking with this man in a bar in Sydney. He was an American, too -- a doctor.

    (Sawyer buttons his shirt.)

SAWYER: I've been on some benders in my time, but this guy -- he was going for an all-time record. It turns out this guy has a son. The son's a doctor, too.

(Sawyer has his complete attention now.)

SAWYER: And they'd had some kind of big-time falling out. The guy knew it was his fault, even though his son was back in the States thinking the same damn thing. See, kids are like dogs -- if you knock them around enough, they'll think they did something to deserve it.

(Jack is silent as he listens.)

SAWYER: Anyway ... there's a pay phone in this bar, and this guy ... Christian ... tells me he wishes he had the stones to pick up the phone and call his kid. Tell him he's sorry, that he's a better doctor than he'll ever be.

(Overcome with emotion, Jack turns away. Sawyer watches Jack.)

SAWYER: He's proud. He loves him.

    (Jack struggles not to cry.)

SAWYER: I had to take off, but ... something tells me he never got around to
making that call. Small world, huh?

    (Jack nods.)

    JACK: Yeah.

    SAWYER: Good luck, Jack.

(Jack looks at Sawyer, their eyes meet. Sawyer nods and turns away. Camera holds on Jack. Jack turns and leaves.)

Sawyer's revelation to Jack about his father gets me bawling every time, or nearly so.

Hurley's cdplayer runing out of batteries and his responce of "Son uva Bitch" is histaricle and I never realized until then that his cd was the songs at the end of the show.

I already knew about Locke's secret because I never really got into the show till i watched the finalle with my dad. On the US comentary the writers and producers mentione that they wanted it to be like when you realize bruce willis is dead at the end of six sence

the kate jack interagation scene at the end of "what ever the case may be" is also an emotional one. "It belonged to the man I loved, it belonged to the man I loved, It belonged to the man I killed."

there are other great moments but these are the ones that stick out

For me, it was the bit right at the end of Numbers, when you see the hatch with the numbers on the side. That was an incredibly creepy moment, gets me every time.

    a few:

-the monent at the end of numbers, when Charlie doesn't believe Hurley about his money.. and the numbers on the hatch.. one of the best moments in the season

-Locke's Revelation at the end of "walkabout" didn't see it coming so I really enjoyed it

-The light at the end of "Deus Ex Machina" seriously creeped me out..

    -when Arnst explodes in Exodus..

-when we find out that the message has been playing for 16 years..

-When kack finds Charlie hanging.. a big shock for me..

    -The Golf Course..

-when Sayid finds the cable on the beach..

    that's about it really...

you know, reading that excerpt with Jack and Sawyer that basquille posted really makes me appreciate how much of a great actor Josh Holloway is......if that was read by someone like Shannon, Boone or Sayid it would of come out AWFUL!!!

Numbers in general, Arzt exploding, Charlie hanging and the light coming on in the hatch... brilliant

All the moments mentioned above and:
Boone: What do you do in the real world Mr. Locke?

    Locke: It's John.

    Boone: John.

    Locke: Why don't you guess?

Boone: Well, you're either a taxidermist or a hitman?

Locke (laughs): I was a regional collection supervisor for a box company.

    Boone: A box company?

    Locke: They made boxes.

    Boone: Yeah, right.

    All really good scenes :)

    I also really like:

    - We're not the only ones on this island and we all know it!

(when sawyer gets glasses and hurley comes in with)
    - hey looks like they steamrolled harry potter! :D
