Going on that, it looks like the 85 has a more accurate lower horn to the original.

You can get the LS85Q from Ishibashi, incl shipping and VAT etc for about €770 and the 75 (NOT Q, they dont seem to have 75Q on Ishibashi) for €700.

*** Dr J, without asking you to give away any of your trade secrets, where did you see that info on the 75Q?

Theres actually a strange doubling of contour shapes throughout the whole tokai range. Some of tokais foreign websites show the entire range with those 'wrong' horn shapes, others show the entire range with the faithful LP contours. Those funny horn shapes only appeared about 2 years ago, but the original shape loverocks are still available, so the whole thing seems a bit strange. I can only presume they alter the contours of some models for certain markets due to legal issues....
Regardless, the shape has no bearing on the quality of the guitar, because it appears across the range, there are models made with both shapes, which have otherwise identical specifications..

Careful of those ones in Musician Inc. They have a few Koreans floating among their stock. Stay clear of the Korean models

If you're asking me, sei046, the figures I quoted already INCLUDE VAT Duty shipping etc. Vat is 21% of total cost, Duty is 3.2%

Have a look in the Music Resourses Sticky for details of all this stuff ;)

Personally I use this one but there's millions of them.

Credit card is your best bet because if you dont receive the goods in good order you can claim back from the credit card company.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,110 ✭✭✭sei046

oh so i can order the same way i would with musicstore or thomann ye? That would be the handiestfor me. Fill in card details on net and they just ship it? Have you dealt with them no?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,992 ✭✭✭Johnny Storm

No I never actually bought naything from them. I nearly did though and asked them a few questions by email - they were very helpful and write excellent English. Other people here on this forum have had positive experiences with them.

I think you have to send them an email giving them details of your order then you go to their secure SSL website and pay with your credit card.

Here's an email I got from them in Feb:

Quote:" We accept payment by a credit card ( VISA, Master and AMEX ) and by bank wire. Bank wire fee 3,000 Yen will be required in addition if you choose bank wire payment. When your order is firm, we will give you detailed information about payment.

    3. Yes. When you place an order, please advise me of the following information by e-mail. 1. Your name,
    2. Address,
    3. Phone number,
    4. Holders name of your card,
    5. Expire data of the card.
( Do not enter your card number for security of your card. )

We have our SSL site for sending a credit card number with security. Please go to the following----
    https://www.ishibashi.co.jp/webshop/card/card.htm
(* Please ignore the box at the bottom right next to the "Click")

Merchandise will be shipped after your payment is completed. Delivery time is approximately one week.

If you have question, please let me know.
    Thank you very much.

    Best regards,
    Noriko Sada
