7 million winning Lotto ticket bought in Tesco bray!

My heart can't take any more of this!! So close yet so far.

When we heard that the winning Euromillions ticket was sold in Ireland on the night of the draw, I think my heart skipped a beat like everyone else in the country who had bought a ticket. A mad scramble to find and check my ticket. OMG what if its me!! :D Of course it was Dolores down in Limerick. Damn! :D

Well yesterday rather than buying my ticket for the 7 million Irish lotto in our own shop like I usually do, I bought it in the Newsagents at Tesco bray for some reason. First time I've ever bought it anywhere else other than our own shop. The old man comes in this afternoon and says, "did you hear that the lotto winning ticket was sold in Tesco Bray".

OMG, OMG, it has to be me this time!! My heart starts thumping and I scramble to find my ticket to check it. I ask him to clarify. "In the newsagent or from the lotto machine at the information desk??". "The information Desk", he replied.

    aaaahhhhhh S***E!! :D:D

With the Euro millions it was kinda "Close but no cigar" Close as in the ticket was sold to one of 4 million Irish rather than any of the other 300 million Europeans.

This Tesco win though really is too close for comfort. For about 10 seconds I was dreaming of how I would spend 7 million, I was so convinced it had to be me.

I think we all stupidly think we've won everytime we here there is a winner.
We get our hope up even more when we here it's in our county... and then the dream gets shattered when you can't even match one bloody number :(

Got a text from the missus to say that she checked the ticket but we didnt win it. It's bad enough to hear it was in Bray but where we buy our ticket everytime makes it worse. Mind you I may find out later when I get home to see the missus has left me that she lied lol.

Axiom 1: Old people always win the lotto...

After all, any money diverted to the pension system in Ireland is spent on fags and lotto tickets!
