Did I Predict My Death???

Ok as much as some of you are going to think i'm making this up i sware this is acutally true as God, i even get sent home from work cos i got sick in everything.....

Ok so i had a Dream last night, here is basicially what happened.
I woke up in my house as normal and got ready for work.
While cooking my breakfast i sang along to the song Mr Brightside by the Killers. I called up the station to find out where we were metting up for work toda and altho i cant remember where my supervisor said we were meeting the next thing i know i'm on a Dart heading into town.
On the dart all the way into town (in the dream this only lasted like 2min) i keep saying "That ****ing smell....." in respoce to something i cant remember.
Once in town i walk out of connely station and start on my adventure up Talbot street to meet up outside the GPO on o'connell street.
On the way up O'Connell street i get stopped by two american tourists asking me for directions to Grafton Street (one is wearing an Green Ireland Cap).
I give them directions and start walking accross O'Connell Sreet onto the divide the spire is on, at this point my dream turns into Third Person view like from a cemera or by-stander and i watch myself get hit by a Blue Air-Coach Bus... The coach screams to a halt and people start running over.....
    Then i wake up.

I was sweating and my hands were really shaking, This has never happened to me before for a Dream, Eventually i calm down and notice i have a voice mail on my phone so i dial 171 and give it a quicklisten:
"Hey its Jen, Were doing a promo with **** today so its just us three. We've like f**cking 200 samples to give out so i'm picking them up now and we'll meet ya outside Easons rite? Talk to ya then...."

Noting TOO strange so i get dressed and go down to the kitchen and put the kettle to make breakfast. I turn on the radio just in time to hear the last 10-20 seconds of Mr Brightside..... WEIRD!!

I get freaked out a little but put it down to a little
I leave for work and get the Dart. When i sit down one or two stops later the guy beside me lights up a smoke and starts puffing away. All thats going through my head is "I hate that ****ing smell...." then i cop on and notice this is getting too weird. So when i get off the Dart i start walking up Talbot street and stop for a second to call my mate Colly and tell him how weird my Morning has been. So as i'm walking again talking on the phone to Colly i get up outside Golden Discs and i nearly **** myself, Why?
Cos i see two American tourists holding a map argueing about how lost they are... One is wearing a Dublin Cap, But I dont stop i keep walking while looking behind me and talking on my phone. With that i bump into the person in front of me, i look forward again to say sorry but i just froze solid. My mate was like "Justin......? JJJUUUSSSTTTIIINNNN?" down the phone but i couldn even answer him cos i was in total shock, i was standing on the top of talbot street..... LOOKING AT AN AIR-COACH FLY PAST!!!!!

I just hung up my phone and went white, i eventually start moving again and went over to easons still in bloody mild shock or something. I told my boss and she could see how shook up i was so i got sent home. Got home around 11.00 in a taxi and just fell asleep. I only woke up now... No more weird dreams or anything but i'm still major freaked out!

Could this just be a line of coincidences? Or Did i actaully deam my (possible) death?

It's a good story ...but really?

I don't think you predicted your death what with you being alive and all.

I think it was more than likely just your subconscious' way of telling you what most of us already know...never help tourists.

    i agree..

there's almost alsways an aircoach on O'Connell street. at any time of the day.
theres alsways a lost tourist around..
and its raining.. hence the hat...

Well, i assume your still alive?? Freaky story alright, is this a usual Pattern to your day??

[Alternative response]Oh my god, he's a witch, BURN HIM, BURN HIM!!! :D:D:D

Coincidences happen when you notice them, if nothing "coincidental" happened you wouldn't have said "Wow that was a very uncoincidental day". Get over it..

weird story all right but I seriously doubt you saw your "possible" death. It was a total coincidence. As someone said there is always an air coach going down O Connell street and Dublin is full of tourists. Your alive mate nuff said

No not really, I work in promotions so we normally meet up in a different place every day. Maybe in the city centre once every 2 weeks or so cos most the time i'm picked up.

Some asked "Really?", Yea Really. If i wanted a day off work i could have thought up something more realistic but this is actually real.

And the moral of this story is: look before you cross the road.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68,173 ✭✭✭✭seamus

You sang a song that's played 20 times an hour, then you took the same route to work that you do every day, and then you see an Air coach driving down talbot street?

    Yeah, real scary stuff there.

If I'd had a dream about being knocked down by a bus I certainly wouldn't walk along a busy street while talking on a mobile phone...

That crossing from Talbot Street to North Earl Street is a dangerous one for busses.

I believe your being very negative about your dream, it could be that you were given a warning to be careful... not many people get that chance to change things!!!

ye, just a freaky coincedence. Who here can say they dont hear Mr Brightside at least once a day on commercial radio??!!

there is a very strong chance of seeing american tourists in town any time of the year, i see them nearly everytime i go in(they are so easy to spot!!)

and as for the air coach, its like seeing a dublin bus in town....very likely!!

but i can see why you would be freaked out!

oh, but the dart smelling incident was weird!

    weird

    I guess you could say:
Killers is always being played on the radio.
People always try smoke on the Dart.
There is always tourists on Talbot/O Connel Street
Air-coach busses always go up and down O'Connel street

But its the timing of everything thats weird and the way its almost all as dreamed it.

Meeting up at Easons - Two doors down form where i dreamt
The Killers song in the Kitchen - Just missed most of it.
The Smell on the Dart (I know happpens alot) - 9/10 Their aint a smell
The tourists with the the Dublin Cap asking for directions - Same Place Same Time
The Air-Coach - Again Same Place Same Time

Christ, Even reading it like that freaks me out.

    Yeah, real scary stuff there.

Played 20 times an hour on the Same Station i think not. The station i turned on is the station i work for and i know the song gets played at most 4 times a day. So it was a one in 80 chance of the song being played at that time if my calcuations are correct.

I go to a different place in Dublin every day so thats a different oute to a different location everyday. The chances i would have been going into town for work are 1 in 14. I very rarely work EARLY mornings normally its later so the chages are around 1 in 26 of of me going into town to work early on a morning.

The Air-Coach i agree with, i see them everywhere. So thats about the only point your correct in.

I think I do believe in preminitions. One time when I was small my family was on holidays in France. My dad had a dream one night where he saw my younger brother face down, floating and drowning in the sea. He didnt think anything of it, but the next day my dad brought my brother and I to the beach. My dad was playing with me in the water when he suddenly remembered his dream, turned around and saw my brother floating face down in the water. I wouldnt be so quick to dismiss the relevance of these kind of dreams, I dont think we should discard anything that we cant make immediate sense of.

You really should go rent out final destination 1/2 for some tips as to how to avoid death for the next few hours/days until it unevitably comes for you again.

...but only half as many people will see it....

Coincidence? Could be, but an uncanny one if so. Having the dream kept you on your toes and careful, and you are here to tell the tale. Good experience, so, Id say :) Just dont let it freak you. Be glad the bus missed and chalk one up for your guardian angel ;)

Well, what happened was you got a look into what could have or may have happened to you; your consciousness then shifted to another dimension, which split from the initial dimension when you were killed, or did something differently the previous day, so you're now in the dimension where you didn't get hit by the bus that day. Cool eh? :)

It also happens to everyone who dies suddenly, to us in this dimension, for whatever reason, they are dead and gone, but to them, they have shifted to the alternate dimension where everything is the same except for them dying, so they can live out a life until the time of judgement, when they have lived their lives and pass away naturally (and move to a higher dimension or state of existence). Life has a funny way of working out like that.

Couldn't that also mean that the op actually did get hit by the bus and died and is now in such a new dimension ? I presume that as part of such a cross-over, your memory of the time leading up to your death would have to adapt to the circumstances of the new dimension, and perhaps as memories of the old one fade they create the impression of having dreamed of your own death ?

    RIP Undercoverguy :)

    [QUOTE=Undercoverguy......true as God......[/QUOTE]

See that where some of us start to question it?

In answer to the question tho ... no you didn't coz you're not.

    Cool dream tho!

Of course if you stopped to talk to the American tourists you would have completely missed the Aircoach anyway.

Oh yes, his thread was terminated in the other dimension but his consciousness lives on it this one. Einstein's theory of infinite parallel dimensions suggests that a new dimension is created every time a different outcome could occur. So every choice and mixture of choices made by the billions of people and events on this planet could spawn an alternate dimension. Whether or not the consciousness exists in all dimensions is the big question.

Could give a possible ray of hope for people who know people who have died tragically, to think that they just woke up the next day as normal with a vivid dream of dying. How many close calls have you had in your life, where it seemed impossibly lucky that you didn't get hurt or killed, well, that could be because you did get hurt or killed, but your consciousness moved to another identical dimension where you didn't, and that accounts for the incredibly lucky escape.

k..well, we might try not to freak the head of the lad any moreso with stories of alternate realities and what nots.

Hope everything is ok now undercoverguy, sounds like you got a bit shook up.
I'd have to agree with Katie, and I would be grateful for wherever the warning came from.
    ;)
Think you should relax now though, everything is ok.
