    this ones for all you pats out there..

    in 'homecoming', the one with charlie's second set of flashbacks...

    when charlie goes to the posh totty's house, he asks: so where's the old man?

    to which she replies: taking over some paper company in SLOUGH...

    .. not got it yet...

    it has to be david brent from the office, he's the one that's behind the island...

    (this is meant in jest, just in case you thought i was off on another mad theory)

    One of the writers is a friend of Ricky gervais, or something along those lines. That's why they threw the reference in.

    As far as i know.. it's actually because JJ Abrams is a big fan and pals with Ricky Gervais. And even had him in an episode of Alias.

    damn it... i thought i was on to something there, lol...

    however, i do have another theory.. but it's well boring.

    what if the island is merely... an island. for example an uncharted island where they tested nukes or something back in the 30's. people over time have been stranded there with no means of getting off. there would obviously be some kind of power source and the latent radiation could account for ethan's strength, and could be the cause of the sickness, and could account for why the compass is off, etc. the hatch then could be some kind of bunker and the others may just be people who were born on the island...

    now that would be a pisser.

    still havn'e seen some of the eps but the references to charlies religion... and his bro coming to visit him at a seminary? are we to believe he was training to be a priest but got distracted by becoming a rock god and gettting a heroin addiction?
