A few questions that I need answering, sorry again! Okay, how much is a monthly student rail ticket (rail only, not the bus and rail one...everyone is telling me there's only a rail and bus one that's 74 euro? but no rail only one) and if I buy it tomorrow does that mean it will be from Sep 15th to Oct 15th? Or is a monthly ticket for the full month of September? Also, is a weekly ticket from Monday to Monday or how does that work? And is there a student weekly ticket? Thanks very much.

Oh and I tried the Irish rail website, not much help really. Unless I'm not looking in the right place.

I imagine, assumming you are starting in Maynooth, that you will need to get a point-to-point monthly train ticket.

    Monthly

Monthly Tickets are valid for one calendar month (e.g. January) within the designated Zone.

ID Cards required, which are available at any Iarnród Éireann Booking Office, on production of passport-sized photograph.

point to point monthly tickets don't seem to exist for students in the suburban area, ain't much good if you need the bus as well

There is a monthly rail only student ticket I have one in front of me right now, of course it is valid from the 1st to the last day of the month. Don't take a no answer

Yes there is also a student weekly ticket

I thought that too - but if you go to the Dart News and Information at the end of Iarnrod Eireann main page you can get good details of tickets and cash fares.
