quick question

will i do any damage to my valvestate if i run the amp with the speaker cable disconnected for a few seconds during a sound check?

i run from the line oput to the desk and i cant turn down the amp to get a good ear on it.

i know it can damage valve amps but my poeramp stage is solid state.

It's ok to run it for a short while but that'll sound crap. I've never heard a line out (on a distorted channel anyway) that sounded even semi tolerable. Mic it up, man.

it actually sounds pretty good as i usin the v-twin and my pod into the amp....i just need to heasr it on the pa alone to get the levels right

Those are oddly expensive pedals to couple with something like a VS. Maybe you should take a line out from the pod instead?

And save the VS for firewood.
