Karl Spain wants a woman

Watched this last, did not think it was funny. Seems to be based on the format of Des Bishop's work experience - stand up footage interspersed with the actual programme. Generally I thought the actual programme was mildly entertaining but I did not think any of the stand up slots were funny. Does anyone find Karl Spain funny?

Sometimes it is hard to look past the weight. Very hard to make future plans with someone who is more likely to suffer from heart attacks, diabetes, etc.

I haven't seen the show in question, but I do think Karl Spain is fairly funny. He's a wagon for the old "Re-using material" though.

Saw him live in Dolans in Limerick on Sunday night. His entire routine was about the TV show. He is a funny guy alright, but at 90 minutes his routine was about a half hour too long. He kinda ran out of material during the last 30 mins, and had to improvise and/or pick on the front row....

I like the TV show, though.... he does come across as being a nice guy.

I used to know him in college and he was a really funny bloke, but I didn't think he'd be stand-up material. I saw him only once on stage and he was pretty good, but not exceptional.

    This was shockingly bad, cringeworthy.
    Terrible, terrible TV......

I thought it was alright - his stand-up is OK, but miles better than Des Bishop's

I think it's pretty watchable, have never seen him live but from what I've seen on the liffey laugh and the current programme, I'd consider him pretty good.

The show is excellent! Considering this is RTÉ and all, Usually they have problems coming up with consepts that arnt handed to them in script, never mind actually coming up with this!
His stand up is hilarious, I missed his show in Dolans (Limerick City Centre), but I heard he's playing another gig in the city, my friend wasnt sure where it was but he thinks it was either Dolans again or UCH, (but he'll be back in the city in the next few weeks)
The first show was that bit better, but Karl Spain wants a woman still is really good, and I still cant wait to see next weeks show!
