Hit the heavy bag daily and work on your technique..

What I found from experience myself is develop whip like power, (naturally you punching through target) but take it back as fast as you lash it out with focus, full technique, hips, etc always resulted in a good bell ringing! a good pad man on the focus mits working you for this

Heavy bag dlopnep says too, is excellent.

Heavy bag is a good tool for power. But for the most part it's all technique and hip!

From personal experience; I used to have a bit of a power problem. Always thought it was just me and what I needed to do was oomph harder or something :) . When I finally got a good striking coach to dissect it, it was all about my body movement and hips primarily, he fixed it by getting me to shadow box more often and with a mirror.

that's not to say I'm David Tua now, but there was a noticeable increase in power afterwards. So I guess the moral of the story is...... eh.... always.... make sure... you........I forget.

Oh yeah! Technique, technique and more technique. And when you're finished with that, hit the bag.

practice putting a right cross out in slow motion, like Roper says, techniques, get hips in, twist up on ball of foot, almost exaggerate it, (and keep the guard up too!)

buy Real Punching by Geoff Thompson video, its a good basic guide and I found it helpful.

No, they make my hands stink.
Though to be fair, I probably should wash them from time to time...

Also, I once broke my wrist and I attribute that to bad wrapping. There's a lesson in there for somebody.
