Skype USB/PSTN adapter

I just got a fantastic adapter for skype. It's basically a USB /PSTN adapter which connects to the phone line, PC and any standard phone.

You can use the phone as normal, or just add * in front of any number and it is then routed through skype (skypeout). To call other skyoe contacts, you just enter their speed dial number. Incoming skype calls ring on the phone.

It's very easy to setup, and seems to work very well. The ony drawback is that the PC needs to be on to use skype, but O use mine as a PVR anyhow, so it's not a problem. I had thought about buying a VOIP ATA to connect to the router, but these usually necessitate a separate phone, or by default they route the calls through VOIP.

I bought it from this guy:

Hmmm looks good, handy way for me to use my PSTN line, when I get rid of my phone line. Will it work with any VOIP program or just Skype?

I'm not sure if it works with other voip providers. I think it really works as a usb sound card which diverts the soound the phone line, with a switch that allows to select either usb or pstn.

Seems to support sip. I think they just call it Skype because everyone knows it.
