    howdy,

i've got a friend (possibly with more money than sense) that wants me to look into and recommend a dual processor motherboard for him. why, i don't know.

does anyone out there actually use a dual processor board?

he wants to go with an Intel processor. doing a bit of searching, it seems that Xeon is the only option. not finding too many boards. found some made by supermicro. does anyone know if they're any good?

really any useful info on what to look for or where to look for it would be greatly appreciated.

    cheers

Xeon's are for servers, same as AMD Opteron's.
Simple answer, though: Intel Pentium D (the D stands for Dual-core :D )

Though if he's as rich as you say, maybe he'd rather have an AMD X2 4400/4600/4800

Well a 3800 X2 is the same price a single core 4000+.. Not exactly massive money..
