Its been a great season, Dan Wheldon looks to have won the championship, only needs a couple more points(50 points for the win) to be crowned Champ.

First Briton since Nigel Mansell to win a US series, still an unknown though.

Anyone else watch this? amazing finish last night, but then its been like that most of the season. Never thought oval racing could be as exciting but it is.

Was on the edge of my seat the whole race. Awesome finish. Was hoping one of the Penske's woulda got him at the line, but ah well.

Best news of all is Briscoe having "only" broken left & right clavical. He got very, very lucky. It was a very tense time after that crash.

Such a shame there's only 2 races left this year, and next year its looking like Fontana will be off the schedule, but there's rumour of Montreal being added :)

Yet again another fabulous IRL race. Wheldon, Andretti/Green and Honda are really the dream team in that series and he will be a deseving champion when he takes the title at Watkins Glen. He has come on so much since 2003 and I can see him as a future F1 driver if he gets more of an opportunity to drive on road courses.

Ryan Briscoe's horrific accident I found very worrying. They have made so many alterations to these cars (including reducing the size of the engines) since Kenny Brack's similar accident in 2003 and sadly cars are still flying into those fences. Very serious indeed but TBH Briscoe is great on road courses but on ovals he's a disaster. He has wrecked so many cars this season it's ridiculous and the fantastic Darren Manning is the one who gets sacked! I predict that will be his last race driving for the struggling Ganassi team.

Only 14 races next season which I see as purely to reduce costs and keep the field at respectable numbers. No Montreal. It's staying as a Champ Car race .

Yeah, couldnt believe they dropped Phoenix and Pikes Peak too! If they wanted to cut costs, drop the Japan race. The Fontana race loss was due to a conflict with NASCAR; there was no available date for next season except the friday night prior to the second Nextel Cup race; but NASCAR was afraid the IRL would put on a better show (which, knowing the two series on that track, would be almost certain).

Horrifying as Briscoe's crash was, it was the 25th Ganassi car crashed this year, and many of them HAD been caused by Briscoe. Especially after his very stupid move at Sears Point, i dont think he will be back in a Ganassi car...
