    bet the flop. The ace should have killed your action.

    you should have bet the flop. Betting on the river when one of the two danger cards (A or K) came means you will usually only be called by someone with one of those cards. You also should have raised more preflop. Only betting 3 times big blind might get A-rag merchants to call you...imho

    Thanks a lot guys. I was going thru some hand histories with my son and made the very same points. Was hoping confirmation on here will get thru to him.
    His point of view was basically to slow play to max profit on the hand, which I think is a bad bad play.
    Anyhow thanks again invaluable advice as usual.
