    Looked up murphy's site

    http://www.dropkickmurphys.com/tourdates/index.html

It doesn't say there that they're NOT playing it. Still not impossible it wont happen. Maybe it's just a different event organiser or something.

Anyway hope they do. Would really piss me off if it's saw doctors again, the murphy's crowd would be much better

The Pogues reconvene for Christmas tour, Irish Date Announced!

The original line-up of homegrown heroes The Pogues are assembling together for a Christmas gig at the Point.

The band's line-up for the show will be: Shane MacGowan, Jem Finer, Spider Stacy, James Fearnley, Darryl Hunt, Andrew Ranken, Philip Chevron, Terry Woods and Cait O'Riordan.

The Christmas tour have almost become an annual tradition - this is the third seasonal stint they've done.

Support comes from Boston/Celt punks Dropkick Murphys, whose recently released The Warrior Code is causing a sizable storm in the underground circuit.

They will play the Point Theatre on Thursday 23 December with tickets, priced from €44.50, on sale on Saturday 17 September from outlets nationwide.

I wouldn't believe it until it comes from the promoter's mouth, possibly tomorrow.

Still, seems like there's a chance. The Pogues and Dropkick Murphys at one gig would be fantastic. I saw the latter less than a month ago (early in the afternoon unfortunetly) and I wish I was more drunk...

in a way i'd just prefer to see DM on their own, maybe in the ambassador like last time
because this is a pretty expensive gig, but i'll be there nonetheless...

Seeming as there's going to be a ****load of drink flying around at this gig, do you think it'll be over 18's?

It better not be ****ing over 18's or else.......

Going by experience, no. I have never heard of an over 18s gig at The Point (they operate a ridiculous over 21s alcohol policy) so there should be no hassle at all.

Yea. That is the way they do it alright. Kind of annoying, but it means everyone gets to go. It's even more ridiculous to not be allowed into a gig because you're not old enough to drink.

Totally agree with you there, but it's still very backward Ireland to do this.
