    Hello,

I dropped my 40gb 3rd Gen ipod there yesterday.

It still plays away fine but the screen is blank. I just have to randomly choose songs now.

Anyone have any idea if this is permenant? Any place I could get it repaired?

Is it still under warranty? If so, send it back saying it just happened for no reason :)

No, it's a replacement for one I had before (that did break for no reason)!

I havent had it a year but the warranty is a year from the time I bought my first one.

if you're brave you could try replacing the screen yourself...ebay would have them.

Also probably worth cracking open the iPod to make sure the connection between the screen and the mainboard in the unit is firmly in place and didn't get jarred out of place when it was dropped.
