    hey,
im 17 and a half and have been with my boyfriend for 7 months now. we've been talking about having sex for a while, and we both feel we're ready.

we're both clued up on contraception, safe sex, STDs etc, so no need to discuss them on the thread. i have one worry however.

ive heard that you bleed the first time you have sex and im just wondering if its true??? i want this night to be perfect. ive also heard that if youve used tampons you wont bleed??

can anyone tell me is there any truth in what ive heard?

    cheers

You'll bleed if your hymen isn't already broken. It's not necessarily true that if you've used tampons you won't bleed...

You can bleed even if the hymen is broken already. No-ones going to lie, there's a good chance you will bleed and your first time will be far away from the often romanticised image of a "perfect" night loosing your virginity.

But good to hear you have all the aspects sorted, there's always a first and uncomfortable first time for most things, after awhile it's all plain sailing and clear skies. :)

your first time can be quite painfull - i don't want to put a dampener on things for you its just something you should be aware of

alot of girls bleed during their first time its nothing to be embaressed about and it's never alot, the important is just to relax and to take your time

remember practice makes perfect ...... :D

You will probably bleed, tampons or not.
Might sound a bit strange, but put a towel under you when you are doing it... this saves cleaning the sheets after you have done it and gives you more time to cuddle up after it.

As for the pain... it will probably hurt a bit, but its an enjoyable pain ;)

Try not to get hung up on it being the "perfect night" though. Don't want you to be disappointed if the first time is not exactly the way you planned it.... I know mine wasn't... but that's what makes it good ;)

    Have fun!!! :p

    >>i want this night to be perfect.<<

Why do you think it will be perfect. Wow are you in for a let down (probably).

Some people bleed ,some people dont. I didn't.

Just have fun! Don't be worrying about bleeding or anything because it will ruin the night

Practise first with a dildo. (seriously)

Don't worry about it. Everyone has their own experiences. Just make sure that you're as relaxed as possible, and take your time with foreplay.

in reality the first time is very rarely "perfect". It will hurt and there's a very good chance that you will bleed. it took a few times for it to stop hurting and after that, you get all the fun of making it perfect!

Just take your time and relax. Bleeding during the first time is a very trivial thing and there is no guarantee that you will actually bleed anyway.

The guy will understand so don't feel any embarrassment

I didn't bleed and didn'tfind it painful. the important thing is to be relaxed and to be comfortable with the guy you're sleeping with

For 'bleed', you may be picturing the gut-shot scene from reservoir dogs.

It's way more likely to be 'spot'.

s'all bull crap...if you do bleed itll only be a little bit, totally unnoticable and if you used tampons (the superflow ones lol)..it's probably already broken :)

Many people find it can take months of practise befor it ''goes smoothly''.
If I were you I would take it slow and dont count on it going in on the first try (tell this to your boyf. to take the pressure off).
The suggestion of a dildo to losen you up is a good idea, or even just practise with fingers.
I probably shouldnt suggest this, but a glass of wine will relax you and losen tense muscles (a good massage will work aswell).
Try lubrication from a tube or come befor hand as it will ease it in.
As for the bleeding you might but it will barley be noticable.
    Good luck.
