Well i got a new Acer Al1912 yesterday. its quite nice and i like the big screen alot.

so my problem is......its not really a big one but i have set it too 60hertz as it as told me too do and the screen kind of flickers a little bit. I don't know how to describe it, like the whole screen isn't flickering just some of the text is moving a bit when i open up a window and then it stops. then might go again. i don't really know if i have explained that right but i don't know what it is called.

I have set the monitor also to 70hertz and it seems to have stopped that problem but then when i open a window with a black background or a dark background (ie. other than white) i see lines or something moving across or down the screen. i don't know how u'd call it.

anyway i hope someone can give me some sort of help as its kinda annoying!

    Cheers,
    Bubba

What hardware do you have it connected to? Have you got the latest graphic card drivers for the system?

the flicker at 60hz is just because of the low refresh rate.it happens on my crt when i go to 1280x1024 because thats the max refresh rate at that res so i have to have mine set to 1024x768 so i can get 85hz out of it, as for the lines at 70hz, i dunno, so anyway try to have the refresh rate as high as possible

Have you set it to these specs:
    1280x1024
    24-bit colour quality (depth)
    75Hz x 80kHz
A copy of the full specs here

i have it set to -

screen refresh rate - 60hertz at the moment

    1280 x 1024

    colour quality - Highest (32bit)

yes i can't get any more updates for my hardware. the graphics are onboard.
