    Hi,
My extra channels keep being deleted for some reason. I think it has only started happening since the software update, but my extra channels are always deleted within 24 hours of being saved. Has anyone else had this problem?

yeah i have had that problem intermittingly. Not too sure what the reason is.
Somebody told me before it happens if you have too many channels stored.
I only store BBC3/4 ITV1/2 Ch4 and Five.(to see what is on so i can use FTV card) they have been saved there for a while now with out getting deleted so i am not completely sure what issue is >>>>>

yeah i know that people have had problems when saving a lot of channels but if I only save one or two i loose them, sometimes within 5 or 6 mins of tuning them in. Its pretty annoying

"Sky" aren't deleting them, same way "Sky" aren't providing the 150+ crap channels and "Sky" aren't changing peoples signal, reducing image quality on non-Sky channels, etc. Stop the paranoia.

The box will often wipe the extra channels list if more than 30 or so channels are stored. Been a fault for all eternity.

It could also be an issue with you having stored channels and changed the list so many times that the Flash memory is in fact damaged; which is particularly likely on an old Pace 2200 or similarly antique unit.

Ok, I wasn’t actually claiming that some bloke working for sky was sitting there pressing a magic button and deleting the channels.

I am also aware that there has always been a problem with storing loads of channels. But that’s not what I’m doing. If I just store BBC News 24 and nothing else it will be deleted.

Also my digibox is brand new, only installed since late June and it didn’t have the problem up until the software updates.

I was just asking was anyone else having the same problems or have I a faulty digibox

If its got the software update, its not brand new. DS430N's, the only box built for about the past two years, have not yet got 3.3b5. Its quite likely you got a unit that had been in the installers van for a very long time, or a refurb. What make/model is it?

So I've not got it, and hence can't say if its an update problem, as my 13 or so Other Channels haven't been eaten (yet...)

My DS430N won't hold more than 10 Other Channels for more than about an hour. It's really annoying the hell out of me because my previous Panny 40 could store the full 50 channels for months on end without any problems at all!

Maybe the bug will clear when you get the new software, whenever that'll be. My Panny box has about 40 added channels at the moment but never deleted any.

    *touches wood*

Thats not the software currently being sent out, hence its an issue with the box.

As far as I’m aware this is the latest software on Sky boxes (Sky+ have been updated since)
When the box was first installed I added about 10 stations and had no problems. Problem only arose about a month ago (since the 3.3a.6 software update) so I’m not sure if it’s the new software or the box.

Pace's pre-DS430N generally have 3.3b5 already. Sky+ has always used a different OS almost entirely so its updates are at different times and often offset from normal updates.

The 3.3a6 update was in April, maybe May for the DS430N. Not last month.

Anybody with the lastest software (3.3b5 on Digiboxen, dunno number for Sky+) has to, yes.

hi, i have this problem too. Looked around the web and discovered accessing interactive servcies like BBCi wipes the extra channels on my box Pace DSN4xx
I tried this and it did wipe the extra channels.
FYI I oinly ever have BBC3, 4, BBC News and BBC Radios 1/2/4/5 live to give a total of 7 extra channels.

Sorry, don't have a link but I tried the above and directly after accessing BBCi, my extra channels were wiped. Twice.

    HTH
