Listening to the radio today and the gabby cabby made reference to this on his site http://gabbyattic2.com/neworleans/aaronbroussard.wmv . Have a look, puts a human element into this tragedy.

That's so sad. I'm just shocked an amazed that America of all countries couldn't get their act together on their own turf. I don't understand it.

fair play to him.. he seemed fairly composed and in control at first and in his position, that must be hard... but what's happening is really terrible and I think he explained the whole tradegy and reality of it in the plainest form possible.. a real eye-opener

I woke up to that on Monday morning on sky news. Must have left the TV on or something. Not very pleasant. The story about his friend's mother is really sad.

If I had to walk through shark infested waters littered with corpses just to get around my city I'd loose it too. What hits me more though, is that the federal government seem to be more worried about their own careers than anything else.

"Shark infested" is a bit misleading, lol

Saw that a few days ago and it was hard to watch so I didn't download it again. You'd really feel for the poor guy and I'm sure he was echoing a lot of Louisianians sentiments when he said "We have been abandoned by our own country."

For anyone interested in looking at clips from the US media http://crooksandliars.com/ is a good site to check out.

I was in New Orleans 5 months ago. It is a wonderful city. We spent most of our time in the French Quarter, which actually didn't get flooded, because it is high up. I have a friend over there, living near New Orleans, but he got out to Texas in time. He was actually in the Superdome at a match on the Friday night before it and it was on his way home when he saw larger than normal queues for petrol that he found out about the real threat of the hurricane.
Did anyone see the documentary on Sky One tonight about hurricane Katrina? It was all about the nature and science of it, no politics, blame, rescue missions etc. It featured on things including how hurricanes form, what powers them, the effects they have etc. It looked at studies of previous hurricanes like Andrew and Mitch, and also on specifically what Katrina had done and the hows and whys. It was very good, despite how quick they would have had to put it together.

    Try here Tiffany : http://movies.crooksandliars.com/Meet-the-Press-Broussard.wmv

Edit: Direct linking is not working so go to the site and download it. The images are compressed but the audio is really all you should need.

This may sound stupid but we are seriously altering our weather  . I really think global warming is catching up with us sooner than we expected. Im scared for my future children, no jokes.
