Anyone going to see Stars in the sugarclub on Saturday?

They're new album is class, especially Celebration Guns and Calendar Girl.

Got myself a couple of tickets a while back, cant wait.

Totally there - it's the perfect venue for them; I could imagine them sounding overwhelmed in something larger.

Haven't been listening to them much of late; I went hip for their last two records straight after a recent break-up. Nothing since. I think their music demands a certain mood, but I reckon they'll be magic live...

Just with regards to the sugar club - what time u reckon's a safe bet to arrive and still get one of the snazzy round-table seats? I always seem to arrive and they're all taken :P

Well according to the tickets the doors open at 8, but I reckon that they'll probably have them open for 7:30 or so.

Cool gig, glad I got me a seat and could relax!

I thought it was really good - rather happy i got my seat too. a lovely hour or so in the middle with my bottle of wine; good times.

and no offence (if any takers) but i need to go cowell here and crit the cork-openners... the balance was all wrong, but beyond that it was genuinely painful to listen to. my ears were ringing during their whole set. i know that wasn't just a feeling i had - the 2 friends i was with experienced the same thing. was tempted to blame sound set-up, but didn't have the same problem during stars.

you must have been sitting close enough to me. I was about halfway 2 rows from the back in the middle.

yeah the cork guys were way to loud.

They were so good and SO humble and shocked at the crowd reaction! It was so cute to see Evan & Torquil hugging and jumping off the stage at the end of the set. I think it's safe to say they're going to want to come back here soon.
