Er, I wouldn't do it myself, it'd be rather Chav-like in my opinon. Then again, it's up to yourself man..

No. You wouldn't be mad. Just tasteless.

If you're going to do this, black Converse Hi-Tops are the way to go.

Oh my God, DON'T DO IT. Do you actually believe you're Jack White or something?

It looks really very silly to be honest....personal taste or not, to the average person looking at you its wierd and tasteless.

Yeah i'd have to agree with everyone else here and say don't do it, just wear black shoes.

its a kind of kooky look, and if that's the kind of thing you go for go right ahead. otherwise, its just not big, and its not clever dude.

    Since when are Converse chav???
But yeah, I'd say it's up to yourself, I suppose it would personalise the tux a bit.....And I don't see anything wrong with it!

Unless you're picking up an award at some "Smash Hits Poll Party Awards", I suggest not....

Black one's maybe, but I think white is a step too far.

Scruff yourself up and make your trousers shorter (ankle length) to finish the look off, otherwise no

Ey! I didn't say Converse were chav! I meant the combination of a slick Tux and a pair of Converse will make him look like the bridegroom at Wayne Rooney's wedding..

is this for your debs or something? (apologies if your older, its debs time and well it seems a bit of a teenager type thing..)

if so, and your bringing a girl, ask her. i dunno how id impressed id be if the guy who i was going to my debs wore converse. Also, if a tux is required theres a dress code and they might not fit into the dress code

well it's different from the norm i suppose (well i've never heard of it). ah i think its harmless fun, why not do what you feel. you should go for it and i think the white ones would be good. :)

    Don't do it dude!

if that is for your debs check it with the girl first if she says ok the go for it but i think black ones would go better then the white

if your insisting on wearing white cons get a white suit too :p

Why not? It would look good with narrow suit legs imo. Like when Renton went to court in Trainspotting!

Thou shalt not wear white shoes (of any type) with black formal attire

It just doesn't look good, who knows why, it's like that, and that's the way it is, it's like that, and that's the way it is, it's like that, and that's the way it is.

Unless you're a billionaire celebrity who can assure people that "it's a style thing and I wasn't just too cheap to buy proper shoes instead of these dunnes stores runners", then No. White shoes with formal wear look horrible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,644 ✭✭✭✭nesf

Suits/Tuxes and runners do not go together. Neither do Nu-Rocks or Doc Martins.

Just pick up a pair of formal shoes. You'll need them in time for interviews etc.

Defintly get the black high tops or else the blue ones if you're gonna do it..... those white one's look a bit crap.....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,277 ✭✭✭✭Rb

yeah if you have to wear cons, go for the black ones...but otherwise I'd agree with nesf cause you will need black shoes in the future.

see, i think cons look pretty cool with suits-it ain't what u wear,it's the way that u wear it... i guess if u have the confidence, then go for it :) but yeah, don't get the white cons, wear the black ones.

I think its a good idea if youre looking to stand out. But i wouldnt go for white converse, go for white normal runners (be more chav), and if you wanna take it far, wear a black shirt and white tie. That would look hilarious! If not overly hivesey
