Ok I've searched and I couldn't find anything like this.

Just wondering what's your favourite episode of the simpsons and why??

My favourite has to be "The Lemon Tree".

So funny this episode was, like when Bart was stuck in the Lions Den in Shelbyville Zoo and he's trying to figure out which door to use. "Rocky V + Rocky II = Rocky VII Adrians Revenge".

Or when Bart trys to use the spray cans as jetpacks to escape from the shelbyville gang, just classic.

All in all this was a damn good episode.

"Homers Journey" its crazy, its where homer gets high on a supercharged chilly and goes on a myterious journey featuring johnny cash,

Another one is homer the garbage man, classic,

and the one where homer joins the navy, does anyone know the name of this episode?

Cyprus Creek, my favourite episode ever!

    there's so many.

the conan o'brien shows are all excellent (homer goes to college and meets the nerds)

but if i had to pick one episode it would be.....

flamin' moes it's a quality episode but this one part steals the show and shows how bad homer has gotten recently (he ain't funny no more)

lisa and her friends are having a slumber party and decide to play truth or dare, jeanie dares one of the other girls to kiss bart. so goes ahead with it and they put a jinx on bart.

bart goes out to homer - who's watching tv - bart writes on a piece of paper "say my name" to which homer replies "what is it my boy?" bart emphasises the piece of paper again and homer replies "what is it my son?" yet again bart shows him the piece of paper and homer replies "what is it me lad?" bart gets serious annoyed at his stupidity and says "say my name" homer's reply was to punch him for breaking the jinx.

    classic

Cyprus Creek, my favourite episode ever!

Thats a pretty funny episode too, Homer is finally living his dreams and the rest of the family despise it there.

Another episode worth a mention is "the short stories of springfield" (not sure of the exact name), very funny.

i also wanna give myself a nice big W00T for getting my 3* :D

The episode where Homer thinks Bart is turning gay.

    "Hot stuff coming through
"Ooh there's a spark in you hair". "Ooh get it out get it out!"
"We work hard, [hardcore gay voice]we play hard[/hardcore gay voice]".

I have to agree with the The Lemon Tree one.. absolutely brilliant..

Bart: " Behold! the stranger who walks among you is me! Bart Simpson!"
    *shelbyville kids seem confused
    Bart:"you know, Bart Simpson"
    *more confused looks
    Bart: "From Springfield?"
Kid: "He's from Springfield! Get him!!"

as is the April Fools Episode:

Homer:"ah Beer, my one weakness, my Achilles heel, if you will"

the Sanitation Commissioner episode with U2 and Steve Martin is great too.

Another episode worth a mention is "the short stories of springfield" (not sure of the exact name), very funny.

The episode was called "22 short stories about springfield". The pulp fiction parody where milhouse has to use the bathroom and walks in on Herman in the gun store is brilliant. Or at the very end..."Professor frink, professor frink, he'll make you laugh, he'll make you think...and so on..."

HOMER:"is the poop deck really what i think it is"
CAPTAIN:"HA HA HA, simpson I like the cut of your jib"
    HOMER: "What's a jib"

It's called "Simpson Tide"....which is (obv.) a spin on crimson tide...but I tought I'd point it out anyway.

Dunno what my favourite one is. The barbershop quartet one is really good, as is "Brother from another series" where cecil conspires to flood the town and frame sideshow bob in the process.

One of the best moments when Homer walks out the front door and sees Lisa crying in the garage.

Stops and says "I hate to see one of my children crying like that"

Then walks over and closes the garage door.

I nearly fell off the chair it was so funny.

Here is a bit of trivia for ya what was Apu's last name changed to when he was in the B Sharps?

    Homie the Clown

    Krusty 'Burn that seat'

Krusty (making balloon animals) 'You dont want one of these things going off in some kids eye. Whats that gonna cost ya? Hey Lou what did that cost us?'

Mercilessly HOT Chilli Peppers of Kwisysucotanugo, grown deep in the forest Primeval, by the inmates of a Guatemalan Insane Asylum.
The animation on the trip scenes were amazing. The ending of the one with the peyote juicing machine were good too.

the 3-D episode was pretty good.

I got sick of the lemon tree after sky seemed to show it every 2nd night for years.

    Yes. I remember that thread...

I'll pick the episode that I picked then...

    'Bart of Darkness'

That's the one were they get the swimming pool and Bart breaks his leg and starts to go crazy up in his bed room. And then he believes that Flanders has killed his wife in a wonderful pastiche on Rear Window.

Yeah, 'You only move Twice' was a terrific episode. Favourite part being when the James Bond-alike tries to escape and Homer tackles him.
Love the episode as well when Homer thinks Bart is turning gay.
Um........the X-Files episode is pretty class too. And Homie the Clown. So many...........

Has to be the Cape Fear one where the simpsons have to go into witness protection because sideshow bob is tryin to kill bart...
FBI Agent: Now Mr.Simpson, from now on you'll be Homer Thompson
    Homer: Gotcha
    FBI: Hello Mr. Thompson
    Homer: (nothing)
FBI: Now Homer, when I stamp on your foot and say Hello Mr. Thompson you'll get hello

Theres a gr8 one on now on rte2.
Homer not going to church. Quality
"Hello work I wont be in today, the feast of maximum occupancy"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,455 ✭✭✭weemcd

Love the one when hommer quits church.

"everyone is an idiot except me."

My favourite is the one where homer goes to college.

"you may have won the battle dean, but you've lost the war."

/runs outside to a payphone and phones the dean:

"dean, you are a stupid head!"

Laughed so hard on that one, then later in the episode when he's asked about what he will do about his exams.

"i'll hide under some coats and hope everything turns out ok."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,326 ✭✭✭Zapp Brannigan

Hank Serpico, Homer goes to College, the one where Homer and Burns get avalanched in the Cabin.

Burns: "Snowmen have peepers, for watching. They wait and they watch for that one moment of weakness then BAM! comes the knock on the head and you're down..."
Homer: "What do we do? What do we do!?"
Burns: "Oh.....wouldn't you like to know?"

That has to be one of the best gags in the Simpsons ever. Or else the other part of that episode where Karl and Lenny are together on the mountain.
Lenny *hears the avalanche*: Did you hear that?
    Karl: "No."
    Lenny: "Did I hear that?"
    Karl: "I don't know"

My favourite is the one where the Simpsons got a pool, Bart broke his leg, and Flanders was accused of murdering Maude..... "I'm a mur-diddily-urdler!"

The first one this season (17) was pure muck, by the way (it was on Sunday night)....

When homer gets his jaw wired shut.
When lisa convices bart and homer that they have leprosy.
"Use your brains to help us....Your delicious brains

When bart is working in the strip club.
Homer answers the door to rev lovejoy...

Homer: "Aww this isn't about Jesus is it?"
Rev Lovejoy: "All things are about Jesus Homer. Except this."

    Brilliant!!!
Someone said the australian one. - "I'd a called them chuzzwozzers" haha

someone got there before me but the best is the one where Homer stays home from Church.

"We now interrupt this Poltical debate for a Football game"

    Brillant

My favourite episode has to be 'Homer at the Bat'

    An absolute classic, the guest stars each suffering an ever increasingly funny mishap;

Ken Griffey Jr. with his gigantic head from the nerve tonic, and Ozzie Smith lost in the Springfield mystery spot (Where logic takes a holiday and all laws of nature are meaningless.)

And the amazing song over the closing credits.

Umpire: Okay, let's go over the ground rules.
You can't leave first until you chug a beer.
Any man scoring has to chug a beer.
You have to chug a beer at the top of all odd-numbered innings.
Oh, and the fourth inning is the beer inning.
Chief Wiggum: [in baseball uniform] Hey, we know how to play softball.

    Ah the memories!

    I like Lisa the Vegetarian!

Lisa: No I can't! I can't eat any of them!
Homer: Wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute. Lisa honey, are you
saying you're *never* going to eat any animal again? What about
    bacon?
    Lisa: No.
    Homer: Ham?
    Lisa: No.
    Homer: Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad! Those all come from the same animal!
Homer: [Chuckles] Yeah, right Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

Homer: Look kids! I just got my party invitiations back from the
    printers.
Lisa: [Reading the invitation.] "Come to Homer's BBBQ. The extra B is
    for BYOBB."
Bart: What's that extra B for?
    Homer: It's a typo.
Lisa: Dad! Can't you have some other type of party, one where you
    don't serve meat?
Homer: All normal people love meat. If I went to a barbeque and there
was no meat, I would say 'Yo Goober! Where's the meat!?'. I'm
trying to impress people here Lisa. You don't win friends with
    salad.

Bart: [Musically.] You don't win friends with salad!
You don't win friends with salad!
You don't win friends with salad!
[Homer, {and then Marge, join in.}]
    Lisa: {Mom!}
    Marge: {I don't mean to take sides, I just got caught up in the rhythm.}

    three spring to mind...

Homers Barbershop Quartet...lovingly done beatles homage, complete with George Harrison muttering that 'It's been done'...

The one where Sideshow Bob and his brother (played by David Hyde Pierce) do Frasier and Niles as potential snobby killers

Mr Burns trying to track down Bobo..."Ah Smithers, I won't get why I want for my birthday" - "Some of us never do" - that thought bubble
