My First Royal Flush!!

Well seeing as this is my 100th post, I thought I'd celebrate it and mark it with my first Royal.

Playing a home game with a few of my brothers mates, all relatively new to the game, only playing for .10 .25 NL cash, so the money's not the important part of it.

I got Q7d on the button, 3 limpers (as I said all newbies) I call as do the blinds.

Flop AK5d

So I flopped the nut flush - happy days.

check, check, check, pot size bet (meant a real hand as usually weak min bets were the order of the day - except for me obviously ) folded around to me so I smooth call. as does the BB.

Turn Jd

same as before played it cool, called a half-pot sized bet, BB calls too

River 10d - Royal Flush!!!!

BB check, Newbie bets about half pot, I re-raise the minimum (didn't want to clean him out - he's only starting and I knew he'd call with rubbish), BB fold, Newbie calls.

Nice one Ste05. However you only used one of your hole cards. To really qualify for a royal flush and gain high hand prizes you have to use both your hole cards. If you were playing that on-line or in a card club it wouldn't be classified as a royal flush for high hand or bad beat purposes.

Good point, just wanted to post it because it was my first one (of many I hope!!). In a normal game I doubt it would have went got to the river so I don't count it really either, but still, after 2 years playing it's my first one, about time I say.
