Hey all,

Can anyone tell me whats the story with the Lodge this year, is it still at the Hotel or has it moved? Has anyone been, is it good, expensive etc

Has anyone been? Kinda rhetorical...

Its underground in the hotel, but when you walk in the main entrance into the car park, the entrance to the niteclub is the first thing you see. Its a terrible place, but to most people, has an unusual charm. I havent been in ages, but i remember it being €7, which isnt the cheapest, but its good for people who live in castletroy because they save on taxis, etc.

There are widespread rumours of a new underground nightclub opening near groody. Seems fairly certain at this point that it's true and that it's opening around christmas, but there's no mention of it anywhere on the internet that I can find. Look at the 'Lodge ID cards' thread for speculation on the new development by Groody.

The old Lodge is gonna stay open, and they are opening another night club near Groody, called the Lodge 2. Very original isn't it? Its supposed to be open in October but somehow I doubt it, seen as how very little is know about it.

Is it actually going to be called the Lodge 2? I heard it being referred to as that, but I assumed it was just a joke. Seems sort of stupid, and unless it's owned by the same people it probably wouldn't be allowed.
Even if it is owned by the same people, the idea of having two clubs can only be to give the impression of a choice, so calling it the Lodge 2 wouldn't be a great move.

it will be owned by the same people, and yes lodge two is a crap name, but it has a sort of idiotic charm. jaysus, the ul boards is more like a lodge board! some talk about education, pleeeeeeeeeeeease!

But if its owned by the same people then its likely that they're gonna higher the same DJs which means the exact same tracks being played every night in both clubs. Some choice....Mollies it is!

I don't care as long as they keep filling the place with cracking birds.

I think the amount of cracking birds in the lodge is directly proportional to the amount of alcohol consumed in the night.

I don't know what you are monaning about we are all going to be crawling outa the two lodges anyway and to say that you are going to make the effort to go to mollies when there is a night club that lets people that would other wise be going to hospital with alcohol poisining in, thats a load of crap. For the extra hasel and the price of the taxi out you could have a few cans of crap waddel across the road and pick up an easy bird and what ever else is involved in the lodge. To go to town you have to clean up with nice shoes, a clean shirt and the rest of it. Why not go across the road in a pair of shorts tackies and covered in crap after sliding in a garden on your stomack coz it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Ya see, thats the thing. I've got no problem putting a bit of effort in to dress somewhat respecfully, get the bus into town (rather than a taxi) to have a much better night out in town. Don't get me wrong, I think its great that the Lodge allows for an off the cuff night out after getting sh!te faced at home and everyone decides "Lets go to the lodge", seen as how you're guaranteed to get in. But all the same, as night clubs go, the Lodge sucks BIG TIME!

ahhhh just to point out not all of us are easy girls!!! i agree about going to town more choice better nightclubs more people more pubs etc plus you can go to town and get into nightclubs for free depending on the night i hoestly think €7 is steep for what it is. but no doubt we'll all end up at the lodge for a few nights anyways. i was down by groody yesterday its still a building site so nothing new will be opened for a while i guess.
