Take a look for combo amps on http://www.thomann.de

Thanks. whats the difference between a combo and a cabinet? And is a combo just like a regular amp?

The Ashdown Electric Blue 15-180 should be within your budget and seems to be a pretty decent bit of kit. Check it out in Musicmaker (are they still Ashdown dealers?) and then check out prices online to see if you can get it cheaper.

Edit -> Just saw your post. An amp is the electronics part (often called a head when used separately), the speaker (cab) is technically not a part of an amplifier. A combo is an amp and speaker combined.

for that you can get a nice ibanez, a squir or a music man copy from music maker (i have a music maker copy, i think its good, nothing spectaculer but its good), thats all i can think off

Yeah I liked my OLP MM5 when I played it, but it pales compared to the real thing. Try an OLP or Ibanez as your starter bass.
