I am going to build a media PC.
I want to be able to play games also, like BF2 etc
I have put together a rough spec, and I was looking for some advice and help filling in the gaps, I'm trying to keep it cool, dont know if i need the fan coolers etc as i dont expect to have many fans but it might be usefull later on and I like the card reader option. I need advice on case and CPU fans and the case has a holder for a CPU fan so i want to brand match and get the fan to fit.
Any advice would be great,

you'd need more than 350w PSU to ensure machine will be able to keep up with all the hardware, expecially if adding a high spec graphics card, also passive power supplies are not great, their only meant for low end pcs not gaming machines.

check out be quiet PSU from hitide, they are very quiet active PSU

in terms of cpu fan the thermaltake a2144 would be a good option as it would allow you to control the fan to your preference, NB you would defo want to keepa good eye on cpu temps if adjusting it yourself.

you need to get case fans, otherwise the cpu fan will just be circulating hot air in the case, 1 at the back to take out hot air and one at the front to take in cool air, Papst or panaflo are good quiet makes.

Thanks for the advice on the PSU, 350 Watt was the biggest passive one i could see, so I guess I'll go for a fan one, maybe

If you look at the case, it is vented at the top above the graphics card and the CPU I was hoping to get a fan to pull the heat from the CPU up and out of the case, thats why i was looking at thermaltake fans, I'll send em an e mail to ask what fans will fit the case as I think that if i get that right then I'll have removed alot of heat

the one on techfever looks good, if you want to get all your parts from the one place,

in terms of graphics, it depends on waht you want to spend the 6800GT have dropped in price with the 7800 out now,

with ati something in the x800 series, again depends on what you want to spend

Ok added a few more bits. Went for standard MS keyboard and mouse (wireless) and the MS remote. The TV tuner cards have be stuffed a bit as I dont really know what to get. I know I want to record NTL digital and analogue. Also regarding sound. I have bought a set of 5.1 speakers, the ones with the active sub where all the speakers are cabled to the sub and the sub links to a dvd player etc. I'm stuck on connecting this to the media pc.

Picture isn't very clear but I assume those 3 red and 3 white connections are for left, right, left rear, right rear, centre and sub.

You can get little dodas from Maplin or Petes or any decend hi-fi store that'll convert the 3.5mm plug on your motherboard into 2 RCA jacks.

Your motherboard has 8 channel sound so you can use this. For better sound (and more free CPU) get a Creative Audigy 2

I cant see both your files, got the pic shown. Smadger madgers right with the leads.
Just wondering, what are you going to use for controling the pc? Remotecontrol?
If you havent taught about it, once you have a mobile (Sony erricson preferably) with bluetooth and a bluetooth dongle for the pc then have a look at floAt's Mobile Agent it's a briliant piece of software. I had some problems with the new beta but the stable version worked fine from install.
