There are many posters from various different counties and I would be interested the know the answer to the following question.

Are players charged into League or championship games in your county?

Yes, for both, generally €5 and €10 respectively

are you talking about InterCounty league/Championship or just county matches?

afaik, they are charged going in unless they know somebody on the gate :)

What I mean is if you are playing in a match, have you to pay to get into the match you are playing in?

Usually you don't for championship games but in some areas you do for a league game.

I'm now living in Cork but when I played in Kildare they ALWAYS charged players into league games. Not sure if they still do.

    wtf ? ... No way !

Do you mean 'Subs' for the club that some teams collect, or do you mean they physically pay at the gate to get in ?

Never heard of paying to play, can't see players standing for it either.

I mean paying at the gate to get into the game. When i moved to Cork and started playing I was amazed to find they didn't charge players into league games. I was so used to the other way I didn't realised we were being screwed. I must find out if they still do it.

    oh god no.

never had to pay nor did the father. Handy when we had a car load going in and he was the only one playing :)

    That's a bloody disgrace...no kidding.

I'm sure the GAA council couldn't stand over that, as bad as they are, that club should be named and shamed.

The thing is that it was all clubs that were doing it. I never really minded till I came to Cork and realised that it was wrong.

I've never been charged into a club game as a player and I can't believe it's done anywhere. That's unbelievable!

Really?! I've never heard of players being charged to play before. I've never had to pay into any game unless I was a spectator.

It is a disgrace if you have to pay to play.

Never had to pay into a match that I have been playing,if they asked me to I'd laugh at them and keep going.

Been asked to pay into other club matches but its easy to get around it just say your part of the panel of one of the teams or sumtin like that always work and I always get away with it!!!
