Seeing as dregin sparked the idea in the other thread about the freshers ball.
Lets Have a Beer up in dcu as soon as we go back. In DCU, not in town or anything like that, its a dcu board so lets get drunk in dcu. We need a week , as in first or Second week back no later

. Timing ? What time of day? 12noon? , at night? ,middle of afternoon ? ... What do you people think ?

Rules of Beer up:
Get drunk.....................thats it

For the benefit of all the kiddies who will be coming to DCU you wont be allowed into the bar without ID and you'll either have to be a member of the bar, or get someone who is a member to sign you in.

Yes beers is good idear. Matt Weldons does have a "Slipper" sign in neon lights over the front door.

It will allow underagers in also, just dont send them to the bar.

Can u bring friends etc. who don't attend DCU into the bars? Do they ask them for ID or presume they're over 18?

They will ask for ID.

If you want to bring friends who aren't in DCU/member of the bar, you have to sign them in. You must join the bar when registering in the library next week. It costs about 9 quid.

Feck a beers, just get drunk in freshers week, and if you want to arrange to meet other freshers from the forum, but whatever we do, it wont be the Slipper!!

the only good thing about the slipper is their jukebox. its a smelly old mans pub. the DCU bar is better but only slightly. its a dump. sorry but if everyone pays 10 quid at the start of the year, Im sure they could afford to do it up. . retards.

The *did* do it up. Though personally I dont think its that bad. And its *much* better than the Slipper.

Useless info: Maynooth, apparently has the best student bar in Ireland, and DCU bar is run by the same management, conicidentally again, their old Ents guy, Sea Mc Neilis is now our *new* ents guy. So, chins up, this year could be better.

Maynooth bar is BRILLIANT! So much cheaper than DCU's amongst other things ...

I've been in DCU three years now and I'd say I've been in the bar about twice a year. Hopefully I'll make up for lost time this year!
