Hay, if your looking for a podcast ive got one up and running, its called Spitbox, you can get it from itunes, just search the directory for Spitbox, or one that i listen to often is despair and videogames by priest. And Bernie goldbachs podcasting in ireland or educast, there ok, worth a listen or even the subscription, so, e-mail me if you like the show,

My essential podcasts are NYUB (new music, good selection), Diggnation, Today FM with Ian Dempsey (gift grub!), NewsTalk 106 Hidden Dublin, and the blogs An tImeall and Daily Source Code. Not that I get time to listen to a quarter of them though.

Oh, and if you missed it while it was being made, The Ricky Gervais Show was one of the funniest things I've ever come across...

i listen to a really good podcast about knitting, it's called knitcast.

The public broadcasting service in the US have some deadly ones, check pbs.org. To mark the world year of physics last year they had a series of scientists talking about what e=mc^2 meant to them.

bbc radio 4 has some of their shows as podcasts, i really like the accents of their announcement people, very calming beautiful diction. Some of their discussion shows are fascinating.

I also listen to some of the newstalk106 podcasts, the hidden dublin (there's an ep about Trinity that xeducat linked to here that alerted me to the 106 podcasts - it's archived on the site and can still be downloaded) and terry dolan talking about language are a bus journey from coll to rathmines long.

How do most people listen to podcasts? I rarely, if ever, listen to them on my computer (too distracting if i'm trying to get something done) - i have them instead on my mp3 player, and prefer them to the radio when in areas that have dodgy radio reception.

Oh, yeah, i forgot to list technolotics - i like that.

Hmmm, maybe the SU Dep Pres should do a podcast with news about the student life in college. There could be sound clips from SU Council (sometimes there's really interesting rantings at that), and vox pop type interviews with people around campus and stuff about the campaigns, with water based lube sound effects.

apparantly you want ot be checking out a podcast called faceless. havent subscribed to it yet but it's huge in england at the moment. essentially what happens is some breakfast dj gave his voicemail number to an anonymous girl whos in 1st year uni (so probably 18-20) and she rings up and leaves a kind of voice diary thing. he then types it up and it gets entered into a voice synthesizer which is what you listen to. supposed to be rather good...

best of chris evans is alright too. very easy to listen to...

Ranelagh is the nearest luas stop to me - i live near the MacDonalds side of the Swan Shopping centre, and the walk from there to ranelage is so far i might as well walk into college. The bus stops at the bottom of my road, and it's a 1 minute walk to my front door.

I'm looking forward to the better weather, so i can load up my mp3 player with podcast (see, back on topic!) and walk in and out of town.

I heard somewhere that ricky gervais is going to start charging people to subscribe to his podcasts...?
