Im trying to copy a DVD using DVD Shrink and each time I try, it encodes fine but when it goes to burning onto a DVD it fails. This is the error reported (A lot of text - see the attacthed file for what the error reported was).

Can anyone figure out whats gone wrong? Thanks. Tis rather weird. Might re-install Nero and DVDShrink.

Near the end of that txt file

    05:59:51 #40 Text 0 File DVDR.cpp, Line 5061
    Drive: _NEC DVD_RW ND-3520A
    Book Type request [NEC]: DVD-ROM
Book Type setting not supported for the loaded disc type
Changing the Book Type was finished with error, return code -4

Suggests there is a disc compatibility problem, have you tried using a a different make of disc?

Also ensure that there not too many programs loading into the background.

Hey Sully: Had the same problems the past few weeks. Don't know if my message was the same as yours. Then it was solved - don't know how but I did use a different disc. I record onto R+ and R- intermittently and when this problem started I have started to use RW+s which I know are good because I erase them in the same drive.

As an add-on question to your problem and one which I am sure you have too. The encoding is done, the files temporarily stored on the Hard drive and you get this message. I change the media but find that DVDShrink wants to save the whole project again. Wasting another 30-40 minutes. Is there any way to start the burning process in DVDShrink or do you go to Nero and burn the files directly?

What I dont understand is, why is it moaning now that it doesnt like the disks when there was never a problem before? But ill do what you suggested and see what haopens!

As for your add-on question, I always wondered the same thing. Kinda pointless all right isnt it?
