Hey, Just went past the shop on Dorset street and there's a for sale sign and the store's sign is gone! Where has the store gone?? Moved location or what? Thinking of starting making sculptures and moulds again and its the only shop I know of to get the material. So has it just relocated or what??

Also, is there any other good sculpting/moulding supply stores in Dublin that you know of?

Evan's sells some basic moulds, last time i checked they sold the moulding powder(large packets) and had a few animal moulds (pricey enough, but i d say theyr the cheapest around), i also know inspiring ideas had some cherub /angel moulds, do you want to make your own moulds or are you looking for pre made moulds?

Well it'll be for life casting - casting people's faces and Im also gonna try and do feet as well. Maybe hands if I get round to it. So I'll be needing Fine Casting Plaster, Crystikal R and alganate. I don't know where else they sell that.

the trinity arts workshop often does courses in that throughout the year(eg life sculpture), i m sure they'd be willing to help you either for giving lessons(normally 7/8eur a class, near pearse street and made up mainly of non-students), or maybe you could ask whoever runs the class about materials they'd recommend and where to get them (although if you go to the classes the materials are supplied)

try http://www.csc.tcd.ie/~taw/main.htm the timetables changes frequently, they will have a stand in front square in TCD(just inside college green) during freshers week (3-10th October), drop down and talk to them if you want (i was a member in first year in college and theyv very small class sizes etc)
f you subscribe to their website theyll send you emails every so often keeping you up to date on new classes (eg they have one for making halloween masks).

try googling for the materials you want and see if any irish store supplies it or maybe buy in bulk from the uk?

Oh that would be cool!! i didn't know about that. I will check that out. It's more something I wanna take up as a hobbie. Used to love doing it in college. I just gotta sort out space coz it's a messy hobby! RPM Supplies was where we got the stuff in college so I don't know of any others. I'll just have to do a bit of research on the materials.

Id say NCAD and dun laoighaoire also offer courses but i think they'r abit dearer.

i think the way it works in TAW is that for a term/ or a half a term they run the class in the evening, and they have an art exhibition at the end of the year (1eur per piece to enter), so you can sell your art work/ sculptures

Well I went to DL for 2 years and it's a bit far out. Trinity would be better, central. Its not exactly what I want to do but it would help improve my sculpting skills. What I'm hoping to do is make moulds for prosthetic pieces. And mess around with foot casts and hand casts.
